Silkroad

Silkroad is a Grammy-winning musical ensemble that aims to connect people through the music of the Silk Road region. The group was formed in 1998 by Yo-Yo Ma, a renowned cellist, and features musicians from various countries along the ancient Silk Road trade route, including China, Iran, Syria, and Turkey.

The group's music is a fusion of different styles and traditions, blending classical and folk music with contemporary sounds. They use a variety of traditional instruments such as the pipa, kamancheh, and the shakuhachi, as well as western instruments like the cello and violin.

They have performed in prestigious venues around the world and have released several albums, including Silk Road Journeys: Beyond the Horizon which won a Grammy Award for Best World Music Album in 2003.
